Privacy Policy
Effective July 11, 2026
Umadle is a fan-made daily guessing game available at umadle.org. This policy explains what information Umadle processes, why it is used, and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
Anonymous play and device storage
You can play without creating an account. Umadle sets a signed, pseudonymous session cookie named umid so daily progress can be remembered and synchronized with the server. Game progress and selected interface settings may also be stored in your browser's local storage.
Optional account information
If you sign in, we receive the minimum profile information needed to identify your account:
- Google: your Google account subject identifier, display name, and profile picture.
- Discord: your Discord user identifier, display name, and avatar.
Umadle does not receive your Google or Discord password. We do not request your Google email address and do not retain OAuth access or refresh tokens after sign-in completes.
Profile and game information
We store information you choose to add, including your display name, avatar, bio, and social links. We also store daily results, guess counts, win/loss state, XP, streaks, leaderboard standings, podium results, board medals, and synchronized mode progress.
Usage and technical information
Cloudflare may process request information needed to deliver and protect the site. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity may process page views, device and browser information, approximate location derived from IP address, and interaction events. These services may use cookies or similar technologies under their own privacy policies.
How we use information
- Provide daily games, synchronized progress, profiles, rankings, and awards.
- Authenticate accounts and prevent fraudulent or abusive activity.
- Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve Umadle.
- Understand aggregate site usage and performance.
Public information
If you sign in, your display name, avatar, bio, public social links, XP and rank, mode records, medals, and public daily results may appear on public profile and leaderboard pages. Do not add information to your profile that you do not want others to see.
Service providers and sharing
We use Cloudflare for hosting, database, security, and file storage; Google and Discord for optional authentication; Google Analytics for usage analytics; and Microsoft Clarity for interaction analytics. Information is shared with these providers only as needed to operate their services. We do not sell personal information.
Retention
Account and game information is retained while your account remains active or while needed to operate rankings and game history. The OAuth state cookie expires after approximately ten minutes, and the signed session cookie may remain for up to one year. Analytics and infrastructure logs follow the retention settings of the relevant provider.
Your choices
- You may play without signing in.
- You may edit your public profile or remove optional profile information.
- You may delete your account from your profile. This removes the account row, saved progress, results, rankings, awards, and statistics associated with that account and starts a new anonymous session.
- You may clear browser cookies and local storage through your browser settings.
Children
Umadle is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required by applicable law to consent to online services. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so it can be reviewed and removed.
International processing and security
Service providers may process information in countries other than your own. We use reasonable technical measures, including HTTPS, signed HTTP-only session cookies, OAuth state validation, and restricted server-side credentials. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the service or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be revised when material changes are published. Privacy questions or deletion requests can be sent to support@umadle.org.
